Mistake mistakes
I used to see mistake as a serious matter. My definition to mistake is to do something wrong or make wrong decision or do not perform well on the work that I care much. I felt embarrassing and frustrated when I made some mistakes. Getting law grade on exam or assignment would make me feel sad. I feel depressed easily and I do not like myself to be like this. Therefore, I started to read some books that teach me to be optimistic. My mother also encouraged me when I made mistakes. I started to learn to see mistakes in different ways. I told myself do not be afraid of making mistakes. Now, I have improved a lot, but it is inevitable to feel a little bit depressed when I make mistakes. When I feel depressed, I will quickly encourage myself to move on. I realize that making mistakes can give me experiences. After watching the video of Prof. Spausch’s speech, I firmly believe what he said about experience. “Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.” He also faced a setback when he was young, but he told us to remember the brick walls are there for reasons. “The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough.” he said. I was impressed by what he said. I will keep this thought in mind and never give up to pursuit what I want.

To me, I think the definition of mistake is doing something wrong, or make some failures. However, I personally do not agree that making mistakes is bad, although we all feel upset or embarrassing when we make mistakes. As a Chinese proverb goes, “Failure is the mother of success”, when we make some mistakes, we should really learn from the mistakes we made so that we can be successful next time. If a teacher asks you a question and you do not answer it correctly, just check and remember the answer and do well next time. My mother always says, “Exams are the tools used to check whether you understand the content of the subject. If you don’t get good grades, just correct the answers and review again. Then, you will get good grades next time.” These words influence me a lot although I do feel embarrassed and sad when I get bad grades. But I am still encouraged by those words and never give up to get good grades. As a consequence, I do feel that mistakes are there to make you succeed next time. This is just like what the Prof. Spausch says in his speech, “Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.” When we fail at doing something, we don’t get nothing, instead, we get some experiences. From these experiences, we can be successful next time. Therefore, do not be afraid of making mistakes; instead, learn form the mistakes you make and then you can succeed next time. Also, every time you face a setback, just remember Prof. Spausch’s words, “The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.” As a result, every time when you face a setback, just overcome it and show everyone how badly you want it and then you will be the one who get it.
回覆刪除I like your opinion about the grades. Getting low grade does not matter. Remembering what we have learned is the most important thing that we need to care.
回覆刪除Yes,I cannot agree you more:)
